After the success of the previous two Melbourne Premier Yearling Sales, Darren & Liz Dance and the Esker Lodge team are ready for the 2021 version with a strong draft of twelve homebreds.
Months of preparation have gone into the yearlings headed by Stud Manager, Tom Murtagh.
The final weeks have included many inspections by agents & trainers, as well as some important media exposure by both Inglis and Sky Channel.
With the sale commencing on Sunday, February 28th and running through to March 2nd, the final days will be filled with onsite inspections at the magnificent Inglis base of Oakland Junctions.
Multiple checks from prospective buyers will mean some of the yearlings will be walked out of their box over 100 times as short lists are made shorter in preparation for when their intended buy hits the sales ring.
For Darren Dance, setting reserves is one of the last and most important tasks, and much of this will be gleaned off the number of inspections and more importantly X-ray hits.
With the only Camelot in the sale and one of three Frankels, along with lots by Pariah, Merchant Navy, Shalaa, Hellbent and Pierro, the team have plenty of beautifully bred yearlings on offer for buyers.
It is an exciting time for the Esker Lodge clients, but also a nervous one as the days close in on when the gavel is in the hand of the auctioneer.
