Despite only being a Coleraine maiden win, the value of the victory is significantly more than the $19,250 prizemoney for November 2020 Inglis Online purchase Black Mirror.
When Darren Dance spotted the 5YO daughter of So You Think in the sale, it was her overall pedigree that drew him into paying $50,000 for the lightly raced mare.
While So You Think needs no introducing, the dam Hunters Heroine is a very well related daughter of Reset out of stakes winning filly Bold Promise.
Bold Promise also produced Group One winning sprinters Merlene and Miss Pennymoney.
Merlene won five races from six starts as a 2YO, including a Golden Slipper, while Miss Pennymoney won a Newmarket Handicap.
Trainer Pat Ryan has done a fantastic job with the mare after she arrived at his stable as a very ‘hot’ and at times unwilling conveyance.
Plenty of beach work along with being trained from a paddock have seen her manners improve dramatically, to the point that Dean Yendall was able to lead and control the race before kicking away for an easy four length win over 1400m.
Future plans include trying to tick off a city win before she embarks on a breeding career next season.
Congratulations to her owners Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock Pty Ltd, R Menchise, MChoueifate, CJ Favre, Mrs SV Favre, PJ Gallivan, CJG Smith, MJ Eastmure, Crow Family, Brittain Racing & Jaybeeque Racing.
