Finals Day At Flemington
Jul 06, 2019
Today's meeting at headquarters could prove to be a big day for ATB owners, trainers and supporters alike.
While all three runners are around the $15 mark, we believe they can all run well enough to be in the money.
INGNITER runs in the $150,000 The Mahogany Challenge Final over 2800m. He has run some of his best races at this track, including a second placing behind the smart Declares War two starts back.
Forget last start on the slow track at Caulfield, he is back on a firmer surface with Jamie Mott who knows this horse very well.
The only query is the 2500m, but should he run the trip he looks great value at $15 & $4.20.
SIRIUS SUSPECT is back after a brief let-up and resumes down the straight in the $160,000 All Victorian Sprint Series Final over 1200m.
He excels down the straight with both runs being solid placings behind the smart Order Of Command, the most recent a Listed placing back in May.
He is drawn to get to the right part of the track and with Linda Meech riding at the minimum weight of 54kg, he looks good value at $14 to win and especially $4 to run a place.
COLLECTABLE is a very smart filly who hasn't had much luck in the bigger races she has been set for in the past.
Today she heads to the $135,000 Rivette Series Final over 1600m with plenty of things in her favour.
Back onto a firmer surface is ideal, the big track is great, barrier means little work in the run and Dean Yendall is a good strong rider who has a terrific Flemington record.
Any luck when she needs it and the $15 & $3.40 looks nice.
While we don't expect all three to win, the multi combination based on the prices above comes to $3,150.
More realistically, combining all three to run a place could be a better investment = $57.12 at the prices above.
