Bad luck, bad barriers, bad rides along with being beaten by some handy gallopers in recent starts have all added up to some frustrating moments for all connected to 3YO gelding Whitemore.

But finally at career start number sixteen, the planets aligned on Wednesday night at Racing.com Park, Pakenham where the son of Statue Of Liberty was first past the post in what was a narrow, but convincing win.

A lovely front-running ride by Ethan Brown and the change from blinkers to visors did the trick.

The gear change came thanks to Jamie Mott who suggested them after his narrow Cranbourne loss. Unfortunately for Jamie suspension meant he missed the winning ride, but it certainly showed up as a significant factor in the win, responding strongly when he could see and feel the runner-up challenging inside him.

Congratulations to all owners SCG Racing, Mrs KL Schuuring, Eromsil, SMJ Racing, T Grey, Miss R White, D Rosenzweig, ML Rosenzweig, DK Prouse, DW Spicer, Mrs SL Spicer, MD Dix, WS Lander, G Dargan, PJ Gallivan, Compass Civil, Miss T Czislowski, TR Criddle and a big thanks to Robbie Griffiths and his wonderful team.

Hopefully now he can string a couple of wins together and build on what is an impressive tally of $68,499 for horse having just won his Maiden.

He was $26,000 purchase from the 2017 Tasmanian Magic Million Sale.

Whitemore's victory brings ATB's 2018/19 tally to 33 winners with another 74 placings from 246 runners this season.

Horse racing syndicates are the way to go for family and friends and with ATB we strive to mix socialising while enjoying that winning feeling.
