ALL STAR 'MONEY BAGS'

Feb 22, 2019

After a long campaign, the Robbie Griffiths trained 4YO Mr Money Bags scraped into the All Star Mile field after finishing tenth after all public votes were counted and clarified.

The Top Ten public elects made the field automatically.

When the leaderboard went into 'blackout' mode last Friday it made for a nervous final 72 hours, but thankfully we held on, albeit with a slice of luck.

Our plight for a spot was saved when The Autumn Sun did not accept for the race despite polling the most votes.

Finishing eleventh after being in the Top 10 since voting commenced would have been a bitter pill to swallow, but lady luck played its part and we made the final cut.

THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HELPED GET HIM ACROSS THE LINE we have been overwhelmed by the support during the voting period, especially from those not associated with the horse as well as the best wishes that have come our way since making the field.

Also a big thanks to Sarah Moran and the team at the Griffiths stable and well done to his owners who pushed hard to make it a fantastic collective effort.

The result for mine also reflects the high regard both ATB and the Griffiths Stable have in the racing industry.

Bring on March 16th at Flemington!

ANOTHER SATURDAY DOUBLE

It may not have been in the city, but for the third time in a month, ATB runners have landed a double, this time at Bendigo.

Similarly to a fortnight ago at Caulfield the race to race double was brought up in the opening two races.

Smart filly Fact Or Fable scored a narrow but impressive win in the 2YO fillies Maiden over 1100m (owners above), while Ohm's Law turned around his debut performance with a strong staying effort in the 2200m Maiden.

Both horses are trained by Robbie Griffiths, with Jarrod Fry riding the filly, while German rider Martin Seidl steered home Ohm's Law.

Target races in Adelaide during the carnival are now on the agenda for both horses - the 2YO Magic Millions for Fact Or Fable and the SA Derby for Ohm's Law (owners below).

Both will have lead-up runs in Victoria beforehand.

Congratulations to both sets of owners.

YEARLING DRAFT OFF TO THE MELBOURNE PREMIER

Tom, Shelly and the team have been busily preparing our draft for the Melbourne Premier Sale which starts early next month.

Esker Lodge our breeding arm is in its second year.

Seven homebreds head to the sale and after last year's great results we are feeling very hopefully again.

Below is our Lohnspresso filly by I Am Invincible.

Her older sister by Fastnet Rock made $400,000 at last year's sale.
