Women's Racing Syndicate Horses Debut for Payne
Nov 01, 2017
After twelve months of preparation the first stage of racetrack action is nearly here for the newly formed Women's Racing Syndicates.
Melbourne Cup winning rider, Michelle Payne has set two of the three syndicate gallopers for debut at today's Bendigo Cup meeting.
Condover Hall and Lady Makfi (photo) both debut in the opening two races of the day.
Darren Dance purchased the Mastercraftsman colt (Condover Hall) and the Makfi filly (Lady Makfi) at last year's Ready To Run sale in New Zealand with the purpose of setting up a Women's Racing syndicate.
Along with Kerrie Canning who heads the Women's syndicate along with business partner, Cheryl Disher they have helped give many ladies the opportunity to be involved in racehorse ownership for the first time.
The whole concept revolved around Michelle Payne training the horses and while visits to her Nottingham stables along with other functions have been well received by all involved, today is when the real action starts.
Lady Makfi races at midday in the 1100m No Fuss Event Hire Maiden Plate and then 30 minutes later, Condover Hall saddles up in the 1400m Bendigo RSL Museum Maiden Plate.
With Michelle riding both horses from good barriers we are confident they will run very well after the patient and meticulous programs they have been put through.
Good luck to all involved, the exciting times are just beginning!
